The jewel box is a fine example of the outstanding stone work quality that the gemstone cutters have been doing for centuries in Idar-Oberstein. Many of the courtly stone works, as well as in later times pieces from the houses of Cartier or Van Cleefs & Apples were made in Idar-Oberstein.

Die Juwelendose ist ein schönes Beispiel für die herausragende Steinbearbeitungsqualität die die Edelsteinschleifereien über Jahrhunderte in Idar-Oberstein betreiben. Viele der höfischen Steinarbeiten, sowie in späterer Zeit Stücke aus den Häusern Cartier oder Van Cleefs & Apples sind in Idar-Oberstein gefertigt worden.
