A THANGKA DEPICTING A LAMA
Tibet, 18th c.
62 x 43,5 (117 x 70) cm
Seated in the center with his legs crossed on an elaborate throne with his right hand in varadamudra while the left is resting on his lap supporting a vase, wearing various monastic garments, his face displaying a serene expression, his head topped with the specific bonnet, a table with various ritual objects in front of the throne, flanked by a red hat lama and the dancing Ganapatti, the upper register with Samantabhara and partner in the center flanked by Sadaksharilokeshvara and Padmasambhava, the lower section with the one-tooth Ekajati, the blue Mahakala and a red coloured mountain deity, all placed in a mountainous landscape, in brocade mounting.

In der Mitte mit gekreuzten Beinen auf einem kunstvollen Thron sitzend, die rechte Hand im Varadamudra, die linke ruht auf dem Schoß und stützt eine Vase, er trägt verschiedene klösterliche Gewänder, sein Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck, sein Kopf ist mit der spezifischen Haube bedeckt, vor dem Thron ein Tisch mit verschiedenen rituellen Gegenständen, ein Tisch mit verschiedenen Ritualgegenständen vor dem Thron, flankiert von einem Lama mit rotem Hut und dem tanzenden Ganapatti, das obere Register mit Samantabhara und Partnerin in der Mitte, flankiert von Sadaksharilokeshvara und Padmasambhava, der untere Teil mit der einzähnigen Ekajati, dem blauen Mahakala und einer rot gefärbten Berggottheit, alle in einer Berglandschaft, in Brokatmontierung.
Aus einer alten deutschen Privatsammlung, vor 2007 gesammelt - Berieben, minim. Alterssch.
