Orange-red, yellow and green lacquer on a black background. The lid of the rectangular box with two royal dancers flanking a peacock, the sides with further birds and flower shapes. The rims with flower borders. Inscription cartouches. Two small hinges at the back, lockable at the front. Painted red on the inside. Sweat-meat box for a wedding. Flat cylindrical, on the lid a depiction of the king riding an elephant accompanied by two riders in front of the palace in green, yellow and orange-red lacquer on a black background. An inscription on the side. Nine inset plates inside, painted red.

Eckiger Deckelkasten und Sweet-meat-box
Burma/Myanmar, 19. bis frühes 20. Jh.
D. 46 cm, H. 6 cm/ 15,5 x 38,5 x 24,5 cm
Orangeroter, gelber und grüner Lack auf schwarzem Fond. Auf dem Deckel des rechteckigen Kastens zwei königlichen Tänzerinnen, die einen Pfau flankieren, die Seiten mit weiteren Vögeln und Blütenformen. Die Ränder mit Bordüren. Inschriftkartuschen. Hinten zwei kleine Scharniere, vorne mit Schloss verschließbar. Innen rot lackiert. Sweat-meat-box für eine Hochzeit. Flach zylindrisch, auf dem Deckel der König auf dem Elefanten in Begleitung zweier Reiter vor dem Palast in grünem, gelbem und orangerotem Lack auf schwarzem Fond. Seitlich eine Inschrift. Innen neun Einsatzschalen, rot lackiert.
