A RARE IRON STAND FOR A RITUAL OFFERING VESSEL

A dragon holding jewels in its claws, opposite a garuda with a snake in its beak and claws, are formed out of the surface of the stand. Between them are bars decorated with flowers, and two stylised blossoms. The entire surface is covered with floral vine motifs. A bead-like ring with ornaments rises in the centre and encloses the protruding rim. The conically shaped foot is designed with two medallions showing two blossoms and is also decorated with tendril motifs. An ornamented band forms the finial at the bottom. Iron, chased and engraved, oval, with curved rim.

Seltener Stand aus Eisen für eine Opferschale

Ein Drache, der Juwelen in seinen Klauen hält, und ein Garuda mit einer Schlange im Schnabel und in den Klauen sind aus der Oberfläche des Ständers herausgearbeitet. Dazwischen befinden sich blumengeschmückte Balken und zwei stilisierte Blüten. Die gesamte Oberfläche ist mit floralen Rankenmotiven bedeckt. In der Mitte erhebt sich ein perlenartiger Ring mit Ornamenten, der den vorspringenden Rand umschließt. Der konisch geformte Fuß ist mit zwei Medaillons gestaltet, die zwei Blüten zeigen und ebenfalls mit Rankenmotiven verziert sind. Ein ornamentiertes Band bildet den Abschluss am Boden. Eisen, ziseliert und graviert, oval, mit gewölbtem Rand.
